What to Wear to Promote a Good Nights Sleep

Getting a good night’s sleep is an essential part of maintaining health and well-being, so it’s natural to want to build the right routine for yourself.

You put thought into the right clothing to wear during the day.  It is equally important to think about the right clothing for snuggling under the covers at night.  What you wear can make a big difference to the quality of your sleep.

When designing our Le Nid sleepwear, we did the research to make sure our clothes support your wellness and a good night’s sleep.  As well as keeping you well styled!

Keep to cotton

Cotton is by far the best material for sleeping.   As a natural fibre that is lightweight, soft and comfortable, it is ideal. Cotton allows your skin to breathe.

Wear loose clothing

Wearing loose clothing is important for circulation, as well as allowing your skin to breathe. Constricting clothes such as tight pants, tops or trousers will negatively impact your circulation and hamper your ability to breathe naturally.

This can inhibit melatonin production which is responsible for regulating your sleep cycles; significantly affecting your quality of sleep.

Ladies, ditch the bra

I know that some of you take off your bra almost as soon as you walk through the door.  There is a common misconception that wearing a bra during sleep will prevent sagging in the future.  However, wearing a bra while sleeping can hindering circulation, as well as put unnecessary pressure on your chest causing strain to breathing.

When it comes to sleep quality, wearing a bra can cause discomfort and sleeplessness, so set yourself free!
